Burnside Lodge, Port Wemyss, Isle of Islay
The changes brought about by Covid mean that things are a little different going into the next season. Please click on the Book Now button to see our prices and availability. As a member of the 'Good to Go' scheme set up by the Scottish Tourism Alliance we are following the guidance available to us and regularly review our COVID-19 risk assessment. At present we are offering 3 and 4 night breaks with arrivals and departures on Monday's and Friday's. Contact with guests will be kept to a minimum with self-check in and many signs and lots of information available. 'Breakfast in a basket' with both hot and cold items is available along with pre-booked packed lunches. We can accommodate most dietary requirements but please do let us know in advance. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to see what's baking....
The Old Boathouse
The Old Boathouse
The Old Boathouse on the ground floor, first used by Gilbert McKinnon to build boats, is now a light and spacious twin room with en-suite shower room. Please note although on the ground floor there are steps down into the room.
The Trophy Room
The Trophy Room
The Trophy Room on the first floor, the newest part of the property (built as a private sitting room by the previous owners), is now a double room with en-suite bathroom. Both rooms have double aspect views of the lighthouse
Tea and coffee making facilities are available in both rooms, as well as in the guest lounge, along with fresh milk and homemade biscuits. We have also recently installed a fridge for guest use. Towels, bathrobes and toiletries are also provided free of charge. Free Wifi is available throughout the property. None of the guest areas at Burnside Lodge have televisions as we have found our guests prefer the view. Please note: Maximum occupancy of either room is now 2 people. We don't allow dogs (even our own) inside the property due to allergies. There are a number of steps up to, and within the property please contact us if you need further information on accessibility. Please click on the Book Now button for cancellation conditions, and note the travel information on the next page - island life is sometimes disrupted by the weather or ferry breakdown so we advise you to take out suitable travel insurance, just in case.
